Cellular polyethylene boards

Cellular polyethylene board

Boards of cellular polyethylene are outstanding insulation materials. The material, also briefly referred to as "cellular PE", is available in different qualities. The material has a fine, closed-cell structure. The cellular PE boards thus protect well against wind and drafts. They are water-repellent. Therefore, they are often used for insulating roofs and other large areas. Many industries use cellular polypropylene boards as well. They are also often found in packaging, storage and transport. They protect sensitive objects perfectly from dust, air and moisture while being easy to recycle.

Production of cellular polypropylene

Cellular polypropylene is essentially produced in three steps: extrusion, linking and foaming. For this, polymer and other additives are mixed and extruded into a sold pulp. Linking takes place with an electrical jet before the foaming agent is thermally activated.

Cellular polypropylene boards can be shaped by punching or cutting to be used in many different applications. KKT offers not only cellular polypropylene plates, but also cuttings, punched parts and narrow strips of cellular polypropylene. The boards are available with and without a self-adhesive surface.
